Question 1

What else is a 1974 Datsun 120Y sold as?

Accepted Answer

A 1974 Datsun 120Y is also sold as the Datsun Sunny in Europe, the Nissan Sunny in Japan, the Datsun B210 in the USA. The Datsun Sunny is the same car under a different badge, so parts generally interchange.

Question 2

Do Datsun Sunny parts fit a Datsun 120Y?

Accepted Answer

For a market twin like the Datsun Sunny, parts interchange in most cases because it is the same vehicle with different badging. Mechanical and service parts are the safest; lighting, bumpers and trim can differ between markets, and right-hand-drive versus left-hand-drive affects steering, mirrors and dashboards. Always check the part number against your own car before buying.

Question 3

What does B210 mean on a Datsun 120Y?

Accepted Answer

B210 is the chassis or generation code for the 1974 Datsun 120Y. Parts catalogues for older and imported cars are usually organised by chassis code rather than by model year, so it is the most reliable thing to search on.
