Question 1

What else is a 1972 Datsun 160B sold as?

Accepted Answer

A 1972 Datsun 160B is also sold as the Datsun 180B in the UK, the Nissan Bluebird in Japan, the Datsun 610 in the USA. The Datsun 180B is the same car under a different badge, so parts generally interchange.

Question 2

Do Datsun 180B parts fit a Datsun 160B?

Accepted Answer

For a market twin like the Datsun 180B, parts interchange in most cases because it is the same vehicle with different badging. Mechanical and service parts are the safest; lighting, bumpers and trim can differ between markets, and right-hand-drive versus left-hand-drive affects steering, mirrors and dashboards. Always check the part number against your own car before buying.

Question 3

What does 610 mean on a Datsun 160B?

Accepted Answer

610 is the chassis or generation code for the 1972 Datsun 160B. Parts catalogues for older and imported cars are usually organised by chassis code rather than by model year, so it is the most reliable thing to search on.
