Question 1

What else is a 1980 Datsun Cherry sold as?

Accepted Answer

A 1980 Datsun Cherry is also sold as the Nissan Pulsar in Japan, the Datsun 310 in the USA. The Nissan Pulsar is the same car under a different badge, so parts generally interchange.

Question 2

Do Nissan Pulsar parts fit a Datsun Cherry?

Accepted Answer

For a market twin like the Nissan Pulsar, parts interchange in most cases because it is the same vehicle with different badging. Mechanical and service parts are the safest; lighting, bumpers and trim can differ between markets, and right-hand-drive versus left-hand-drive affects steering, mirrors and dashboards. Always check the part number against your own car before buying.

Question 3

What does N10 mean on a Datsun Cherry?

Accepted Answer

N10 is the chassis or generation code for the 1980 Datsun Cherry. Parts catalogues for older and imported cars are usually organised by chassis code rather than by model year, so it is the most reliable thing to search on.
