Question 1

What else is a 1980 Datsun Patrol sold as?

Accepted Answer

A 1980 Datsun Patrol is also sold as the Nissan Patrol in the UK, the Nissan Safari in Japan. The Nissan Patrol is the same car under a different badge, so parts generally interchange.

Question 2

Do Nissan Patrol parts fit a Datsun Patrol?

Accepted Answer

For a market twin like the Nissan Patrol, parts interchange in most cases because it is the same vehicle with different badging. Mechanical and service parts are the safest; lighting, bumpers and trim can differ between markets, and right-hand-drive versus left-hand-drive affects steering, mirrors and dashboards. Always check the part number against your own car before buying.

Question 3

What does 160 mean on a Datsun Patrol?

Accepted Answer

160 is the chassis or generation code for the 1980 Datsun Patrol. Parts catalogues for older and imported cars are usually organised by chassis code rather than by model year, so it is the most reliable thing to search on.
